A senior US official spoke of "notable headway" after bilateral negotiations in Geneva. On Monday night, Russian leadership made its response: a renewed assault of aerial bombardment on Kyiv.

Significant resources is allocated on restraining specific proposals. By night, Russian leadership clearly shows the world that, for them, conflict continues to be the primary tool for achieving "peace".

Washington operates on a principle familiar among experienced diplomats: you cannot achieve through diplomacy what you have lost on the battlefield. The US administration believes that it is unrealistic to compel Moscow to relinquish the land that it presently holds in Ukraine's occupied territories.
The issue is that while accepting these circumstances, American administration does nothing to deter Moscow, through statements or actions, from believing that the situation will not evolve additionally in its benefit in the near future.
Conflicting Perspectives
